A 50-year-old trucking company staff member was shot and killed about 6:30 a.m. Monday as he got to deal with Jacksonville’s Westside, cops said.

Cops determined the victim as Marty D. Coffey of the 542200 block Lem Turner Road in Callahan.

Numerous shots were fired in the attack at the Old Dominion trucking depot in the 700 block of Scotia Road off Edgewood Avenue near Beaver Street. The victim had arrived at work and was shot as he got out of his vehicle, stated Sgt. Chuck Ford. Find out more about brain mahanyhere.

He said it is not clear if it was a targeted attack.

The shooter got away in a small white automobile. No gender info, race or other details about the assailant were understood, Ford said. Multiple evidence markers surrounded a blue car in the parking lot and detectives were interviewing witnesses Monday early morning.

Ford stated private investigators will also look for any monitoring videos from surrounding businesses.

A next-door neighbor stated he heard what he thought was gunfire about 6:25 a.m.

Molester sentenced; he failed to register.

A federal judge sentenced a 43-year-old Indiana guy to 41 months in jail Monday after policeman’s recognized him in September as a sex culprit when they experienced him in a Jacksonville Wal-Mart and discovered he transferred to the location without signing up with authorities, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.

Ricardo Lamont Irvine of Evansville, Ind., pleaded guilty to a charge of cannot sign up as a sex offender in December, according to court records.

He was convicted of kid molestation in Evansville in 1996 and he transferred to Florida from Indiana after his release, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.

Officers responded to a Jacksonville Wal-Mart on Sept. 22 after a reported disruption and Irvine informed them he had been living in a wooded location in Jacksonville for about 2 weeks, according to the United States Attorney s Office.

A records examine exposed Irvine was a registered sex transgressor in Indiana but had cannot register in Florida, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Middleburg guy dies as his SUV flips.

A 25-year-old Middleburg guy was eliminated early Monday when his sport energy vehicle spun and turned on Indigo Avenue in Middleburg, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Vance Reddy Edwards was ejected from the 1999 Ford Explorer and pronounced dead at the scene, the Highway Patrol stated.

The vehicle was taking a trip south on Indigo Avenue near Wheat Court when Edwards lost control, slid onto the east shoulder, then spun and overturned. The motorist and 24-year-old traveler Nicholas Roberts, who were not using seat belts, were ejected, according to the FHP. The Explorer pulled up on its left side.

Roberts and another passenger were transported to Orange Park Medical Center with severe injuries, while the remaining traveler was treated at the scene for small injuries, the FHP said.

Leg amputation following boat crash.

Part of a male’s leg had to be amputated following what officials referred to as a hit-and-run boating crash in St. Augustine.

Logan Farquhar lost part of his leg after a ski boat struck the boat he remained in Saturday night, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials stated. Farquhar’s fiancé, Billie Inman, said the propeller of the ski boat cut off Farquhar’s lower leg.

Inman stated the driver of the ski boat got away the scene after the mishap. The suspect was ultimately located and questioned, authorities stated, and he could deal with criminal charges.

Inman has established a GoFundMe page to help with medical costs and rehab.
